In Sharp Relief || 2005 APHA 14.1h Mare

Piper is a wonderful pony sized mare with a horse sized stride and a huge heart. There is no “no” in this mare and she will give anything a try. I’ve owned this mare since 2013. Previous to that she had been a child’s pet and done some basic training to be ridden.

We are currently showing her with an amateur rider at Training (scores to 66%+) and 1st level in dressage and schooling 2nd level so the rider can learn how to show in dressage and eventing. She is an excellent teacher; very fair and tolerant (as evidenced by her videos) and very steady in the contact and movements the more her rider is so she’s excellent at teaching contact, balance, and transitions on.

Her ground manners are impeccable. This is a pleasantly responsive horse that is also safe and non-spooky. She has schooled GAG through Training level eventing and shown GAG and BN at schooling horse trials. For jumpers, she has jumped with a rider through 3’6″ and is working on her changes.

Piper would be an epic pony jumper (measures under 14.2 all day long), eventer, and/or dressage pony mount for a child or AA that wants to clean up. Riders in the pictures are between 5’4″ and 5’9.” My 9 year old son has ridden her and I’ve taught beginner adult lunge lessons on her.

Very, very fun mare with no known soundness issues, fantastic ground manners, never supplemented, never injected, low, low miles and a fun personality. She’s helped many of my working students gain confidence and precision and we’d like to share her skills with others.
