Working Student Internship Position

St Jacques Equestrian is currently seeking an individual to join our team at North Star Farm in Allentown, PA as a Working Student Intern. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; stall cleaning, feeding, handling horses, turn in/out horses from fields, grooming, tacking up, untacking, farm care, arena maintenance and more. Potential for hacking/longing/warm-up for a person that is capable. Riding of St Jacques Equestrian horses is not a guaranteed initial part of the job. Hopefully the candidate will become capable, through skills learned with St Jacques Equestrian, to hack, help to warm up/cool down and possibly exercise horses. Candidate will begin to be able to take on this responsibility through job training, if not initially capable. It is recommended that candidate brings their own horse to guarantee riding time for the student.

Candidate will be working with an Olympic Event Rider and a Grand Prix Dressage Rider. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast paced team environment and show potential to develop into a position of greater responsibility. Many opportunities to learn by being a part of a very active facility that caters to training many horses and riders of all levels.

The candidate we are seeing will be prepared to make a one year commitment to our team. We offer a competitive compensation package to a motivated, hard working, team player for the opportunity to work with us while continuing their education in horse management, care, riding and training. We offer board for one horse, lessons, training, housing for the candidate and a monthly stipend for an appropriately qualified and capable person.
