Best of both worlds: foxhunter/eventer

8yo, 16H, QH/Friesian cross. The stamina of a TB in a darling, durable package!

Has hunted First Flight for two full seasons with nine different packs to include: Long Run Woodford Hounds, Camargo Hunt, Mells Foxhounds, Cedar Knob, Tennessee Valley, Full Cry, Mooreland, Belle Meade and Massbach Hounds.

He’s keen to the jumps but won’t jump you out of the tack. Eagerly tackles any sort of crossing or trappy footing, is sure footed, can keep up and has loads of stamina. Quiet at the checks and PERFECT with hounds underfoot. No kick whatsoever if someone runs up on him.

Hunts in a double jointed Kimberwicke on the bottom slot. Goes XC in a double jointed snaffle. Easy to rate off your seat and leg.

He evented lightly last year and did some dressage shows and CTs. Scored a 27 in dressage at his first sanctioned HT, but still green to the level (BN) and ready for someone to continue his education there. He’s a crisp show jumper and keen on XC. He’s jumped all sorts of questions on XC – banks up and down/in and out of water, ditches, trakehners, terrain questions, etc.

He wears a size 78 blanket, size 5/4 shoes (front/back), MW tree saddle. He’s a substantial horse but elegant and very comfortable to ride.

Rider in photos is 5’11” and all leg.

Sound as a bell. No lameness or injuries during my ownership (April 2019-present.)

Ground ties, cross ties, loads, bathes, clips, quiet to mount, good to shoe. Easy with other horses in turnout.

Easy keeper – typically in a muzzle during the spring/summer.
