Quiet, Safe Young Rider Eventer or Dressage Horse

City Mudd (“Muddy”) is a 2011 black 16.2 hand Thoroughbred gelding that has competed through the Preliminary level of eventing. This quiet, obedient, safe, and calm boy would be a great candidate for a Young Rider – a horse parents feel confident their young rider will be safe around, someone wanting to get their start in eventing, or someone wanting to flourish in the dressage ring (you read that right – he loves dressage and is a confidence builder for riders who stress about dressage). Muddy was campaigned by CCI5* event rider Kelly Ransom of Hollywood Eventing the first 5 years of his post-track career and is currently in a professional program with his adult amateur owner. Very honest over fences (no XC jump faults on record). No vices. Can be turned out alone or with other horses. Loads. Ties. Clips. Good for the farrier and vet. Not a mean bone in his body. Sound. Very competitive at shows. Same horse day in and day out.

Muddy has had the same owner for 7 years. He is one special gentleman, even sharing his athleticism with his 2½ year old human sister in Leadline classes. The only reason he is for sale is because the owner has goals of running Intermediate level eventing, and Muddy is best suited for Prelim and under eventing or strict dressage. Owner is in no rush to sell and will happily continue competing in the eventing world with Muddy while gaining confidence in the dressage ring with this horse until the right person comes along.

Muddy did have colic surgery with resection in March, 2021 and also takes Tru Sweat or One AC with acupuncture for assistance with thermoregulation in the hot summer months. This has not stopped Muddy from consistent work and a full competition season, but full transparency is important.
